Is it safe to have regular p in v while my partner has a cold sore?

Its on her lip...maybe refraining from touching anything with her mouth is ok...I just wanted to know if its safe, I have never had any type of hsv outbreak and would like to keep it that way, I don't think I have it...could I get it from kissing her when there is no sore?...can she p it on to my by performing when she does not have a sore?
